Every relationship deserves an approach that's uniquely tailored to partners' needs and goals. While Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) is not appropriate for every couple, it's an evidence-based approach I love, trust, and use with many relationships who work with me. You can learn more about EFT under RESOURCES.
If you’re familiar with Gottman Method and hoping to experience Gottman Assessment, that’s also a service you can request.
I offer complimentary 30-minute face-to-face consultations to new clients if you would like to address any questions or concerns prior to a first appointment. Most new couples like to go ahead and schedule a first session that’s 1.5 hours so we can use the first 30 minutes to co-decide if we might be a good fit for counseling work. If it feels like a match, we sign paperwork and begin the first hour of the intake and assessment.
After the initial appointment, counseling sessions for partners as well as individuals are generally between 1 and 2 hours. Typically, once a distressed relationship has de-escalated their conflict, weekly session goals can be achieved in 1 hour. In relationships with low conflict, or just hoping for a premarital check-in, goals can be achieved in weekly hour-long sessions, and for some, 1 hour every 2 weeks.
During the assessment process, we'll collaboratively co-determine some healthy relational goals. You'll recognize that our counseling work together is complete when your goals have been achieved.
If you're an individual hoping to try some dating coaching for the first time, my flat hourly rate can be applied to: relationship consultation, online dating profile co-evaluation and editing, healthy dating, conversation skills practice, date planning, and relational trouble-shooting.
